This morning (9/01/08), day one of the Atkins v. Weight Watchers challenge, my horoscope says:
“You’ve been thinking about it for a while, but today is perfect for a starting on that new, healthy activity.”
My interpretation: Atkins Nutritional Approach. Here is my before picture, taken on vacation in Michigan week of August 18th.

Day Job: Corporate America
Long Term Hard Core Goal: Successfully complete a century bike ride (100 miles) without collapsing
Short Term Goal: Make it to 5:45 am spinning class three times a week
Necessary Disclaimer: If I can call myself an expert in something, it would be more in weight gain than loss. Throughout what seems like a lifelong struggle with my weight, I have learned some valuable tricks and some important lessons. I have committed not only to loose the twenty pounds I gained back (again) but this time to keep it off and continue to loose weight. Method of weight loss: recently joined the party back at Atkins due to non-success with Weight Watchers. Apparently my body cannot tolerate sugar.
